  • What therapy involes

Therapy sessions can look different for everyone. Some young people like to talk, some prefer to draw, others may need additional time to feel safe and comfortable.

Whatever it is that your young person needs, sessions are paced gently and adapted to the child’s developmental stage, personality, and interests. Stephanie works closely with caregivers and, where appropriate, may also collaborate with schools or other supports to ensure care is well-rounded and personalised.

For some young people, therapy may involve a short, focused block of sessions to support a specific goal. For others, ongoing therapy may be helpful to explore deeper patterns or work through longer-term challenges. The approach is always tailored and reviewed together with the family to ensure it feels meaningful.

  • Approach & Modalities

Stephanie’s work focuses on building strong, supportive relationships and understanding each young person within the context of their age, experiences, and stage of development. Her approach is shaped by Person-Centred Therapy, with an emphasis on empathy, acceptance, and creating a safe, trusting therapeutic space. Stephanie draws on a range of evidence-based approaches and tailors her work to meet the individual needs of each young person, including Acceptance & Commitment therapy (ACT); Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Mindfulness-Based Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP); Cognitive Behavioural Intervention for Tics (CBIT).

Stephanie’s therapeutic style is warm, creative, and collaborative. She believes that the right approach is not just about what the research says, but in how this is delivered.
